I continually discover new approaches to facilitate ease and
grace in my life's adventures. The latest is using the reminder, "I chose
this for a reason" whenever I encounter something unpreferred, or even
unexpected. Starting from the premise that everything that shows up in my outer
landscape (the three-dimensional world) is something I have chosen on an inner level, this
statement validates the usefulness of every manifestation.
Telling myself, "I created this" or even "I
chose this" can feel like self-recrimination when "this" is
something I don't like or don't initially know how to deal with. Saying, "I chose this for a
reason" acknowledges the value in the creation, even if I haven't yet
recognized that value.
This tool has broad applicability. Try using "I chose this for a reason" every time something
happens that you feel resistance about. It works for things that range in
importance from minor to critical.
Traffic on the freeway came to a dead halt?
I chose this for a
reason.
You're coming down with a head cold?
I chose this for a
reason.
The concert you really wanted to go to was sold out?
I chose this for a
reason.
You were laid off from your job?
I chose this for a
reason.
The cat threw up on the carpet?
I chose this for a
reason.
You've been diagnosed with cancer?
I chose this for a
reason.
You may or may not want to spend time investigating the
reasons; sometimes just asking the question brings forth that information.
Even when it doesn't, the action of expressing trust that the manifestation is
useful automatically reduces resistance and lightens your energy.
